Meet Marisa (she/her)

To lead humans, you have to first be human. I see my role as a conduit of energy in the room and I use that to draw people out and help them feel comfortable in the learning space. During any training session, either in-person or virtual, I give participants the tools, practice, and vision they need to get excited about where they are in their career and where they’re going. I believe anyone can be developed and prepared to lead. I love watching people open up once they realize they’re genuinely supported. It’s my true calling to step in and facilitate learning, so your leaders and your teams can thrive!

CLIENT & Participant feedback

It's not just about the content, it's about the connection.

  • I have worked with Marisa for over 10 years in several capacities. Marisa led a significant enterprise-wide learning project for my previous organization where she was responsible for working with internal stakeholders and a global external vendor to deliver a training program with multiple complexities. Not only did she deliver the expected outcome, but she was instrumental in moving the training forward to educate multiple employees on a new enterprise system. Marisa is great at obtaining alignment from leaders, seeking diverse perspectives and delivering results. I would use her time and time again for my most impactful training and development programs.

    — VP, Head of HR

  • Marisa has worked with us for many years and has played a significant role in the development of our leaders. She is a warm, charismatic, and engaging partner. Marisa brings her energy and expertise to each workshop and connects with attendees through active discussions and reflection. She has built deep relationships throughout the organization and has had a positive and lasting influence in shaping our leaders' learning journeys.

    — Manager, Leadership Development

  • Over several years, we engaged Marisa on a cross-department training initiative. Throughout each phase, our managers walked away more equipped to navigate through their day-to-day activities while increasing their business acumen in various areas. The associates walked away understanding how to appreciate differences while building one culture covering three different time zones from the East Coast to the West. Marisa’s passion to help develop talent was the most memorable moment for me. She was dedicated to the success of the individuals who were a part of her training session. Working with Marisa has been elevating and refreshing.

    — Senior Manager, Customer Service and Support

  • There are 3 words when I think of Marisa Matz: lively, energetic, and knowledgeable. Marisa truly knows how to engage her audience when presenting in-person and virtually. She has helped numerous employees gain knowledge in various topics from leadership skills to having difficult conversations. Her personality and the way she interacts with her audience keeps learners engaged and also makes people want to come back to learn more. Her impact has caused employees of all levels to gain the soft skills they need to excel in their roles.

    — HR Representative

  • Shortly after completing Marisa's 18-month program, several new leadership positions opened up and we were able to promote from within due to the skills obtained and demonstrated by many in this group. Several months later, our field organization is asking for another cohort and our sales leadership team isn’t thinking twice about continuing the investment in this type of program.

    — HR Business Leader

  • Marisa is an expert in her field and was able to provide us with relevant and helpful content to improve our leadership skills. The fact that we did the entire program almost entirely remote, she was still able to keep us engaged and provide meaningful content was incredible. Not all programs can achieve that.

    — Regional Sales Leadership Program, September 2022

  • The learning was practical and actionable. Marisa is engaging and knowledgeable. She addressed all participant questions thoughtfully and with clear explanations for her responses so that we could understand the "why." I feel that I learned from the course material AND from the instructor's knowledge and experience.

FAQ

Questions are always welcome.

  • Short answer: Expertise, culture fit, and glowing reviews.

Expertise: You’ll want to know the trainer uses a proven research-based curriculum, and ideally, has plenty of experience in both training and actual leadership roles.

Culture fit: The trainer should be someone you would want to hire! Think about how they’d fit in with the team, whether they’re aligned with your company’s values… and it doesn’t hurt if they’re bold enough to challenge some of the ways things have been done before.

Glowing reviews: We’ve all been in workshops where the content may be valuable, but the trainer is dry as old cereal. When a trainer brings energy and is able to engage the classroom, learning becomes more collaborative, internalized, and applied back at work.

  • Each workshop runs either a half or full day. Some of our more advanced leader trainings are designed to fill two days. You may choose to book a series of workshops, or perhaps there’s just one that meets your needs. Complete the Contact form and we can schedule a call.

I often get asked to do one-hour workshops, but find that’s a recipe for consumption, not transformation. And we’re here for growth and change!

  • One of the foundational elements of my approach is teaching leaders how to work in partnership with team members. When leaders bring their humanity to the team, they create environments where communication thrives, where people aren’t afraid to share ideas, and where everyone’s clear on the vision and the role they play. As you can imagine, these teams tend to perform a lot better.

Plus, when you develop team members who may not occupy official leadership positions, you’re creating a true culture of learning where people feel invested in and where they have opportunities for growth.

There are endless stats out there reporting how this development-focused approach to leadership training increases engagement, which drives revenue, which leads to business growth. Developing your leaders is truly a powerful investment.

  • You’re definitely not alone. There are organizations that throw workshops at their employees to be able to say they offer “development,” and there are organizations that are serious about equipping their leaders to drive engagement, culture, and growth. The training is one piece of it, but it could be that people have been disheartened when the organization, team, or manager didn’t actually change or wasn’t supported after the training.

I’d love to lend an ear to the challenges you’ve experienced and offer some strategies to overcome them. Let’s talk →

  • Leadership training is an opportunity for ANY employee, and kudos to you for seeking it out! Anyone can be a leader in their places and spaces, and developing the skills of a leader can create opportunities for you down the line. (And if you hold on to this growth mindset, chances are you WILL be managing people someday soon…)
